The Fire Energy Group recently announced that it has reached a landmark agreement with the Communauté de Commune du Dunois to convert a former military base into one of the most comprehensive research, logistics, investment, manufacturing, and educational solar complexes ever constructed.
Located near the French town of Châteaudun about 110 km southwest of Paris, the 51-hectare site, to be known as the "European Renewable Energy Solar Valley" (ERE Solar Valley), will offer both the solar energy professional and the venture capitalist access to one of the most multi-faceted renewable energy centers in the world.
The ERE Solar Valley Project includes the following components:
· A state-of-the-art logistical center;
· A modern, interactive photovoltaic educational center;
· Production facilities where solar modules will be manufactured;
· Research & Development facilities;
· A 12 MW installed solar project;
· Working eolic turbines and a bio-gas plant.
In addition, the ERE Solar Valley will demonstrate other available environmentally-responsible practices by using state-of-the-art green technologies such as ecological toilets and rainwater recovery.
In all, the complex will see 33,759 m2 of constructed space, with 44.5% of the total area dedicated to green space. These will include a variety of thematically-landscaped gardens and paths. It will also feature a solar-heated pond and solar-powered fountains.
John Liu, the CEO and Chairman of the Fire Energy Group, stated the following concerning the project: "The ERE Solar Valley is one of the most ambitious projects that our company has ever undertaken. The time for green energy is now and we believe that a site like this will serve to promote the science behind solar energy while making it much more understandable for the average global citizen. The potential of such a complex is limitless. We are sure that the ERE Solar Valley Project will quickly become a world center for the open exchange of solar ideas and investment, while at the same time becoming a necessary stop for all those who deeply about our environment.
